About the position

The Senior Finance Analyst, FP&A will serve as an integral member of the Finance team and play an active role in ensuring that the Foundation meets its short- and long-term financial objectives. This position will be responsible for analyzing Foundation financial data, identifying variances and trends, clearly communicating the data to a diverse array of stakeholders, and making recommendations to ensure alignment with the Foundation's mission and goals. The Senior Finance Analyst, FP&A will report to the Senior Director of Finance and work closely with the OPC, Development, and Strategy teams, as well as other stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing detailed financial analysis, dashboards, and reports that summarize financial activity and results across functions of the Obama Presidential Center.
  • Partner with senior leadership across the Foundation to provide research, reporting, and analytical support on projects, including strategic planning, impact evaluation, long-term forecasting, benchmarking, and any other quantitative analysis.
  • In collaboration with the Finance and OPC teams, create high-impact financial presentations, reports, and financial tools for internal and external purposes, including the creation of quarterly Board meeting materials.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the financial activities and overall performance of the organization against projections and identify notable concerns, opportunities, etc.
  • Create schedules and analyses that support and inform the budgeting and planning process.
  • Perform all other job duties and projects as assigned by the Finance leadership team.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, or a related role, at a complex organization; experience in consulting or with large non-profit organizations is a plus.
  • Strong prioritization skills to effectively juggle short- and long-term tasks and responsibilities in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytic capabilities including financial modeling, excellent math skills and attention to detail.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication experience.
  • Ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and proactively collaborate at all levels of the organization and across teams.
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles.
  • Data science skills, including data visualization, is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Benefits

  • Salary range between $59,755 and $74,670.
  • Hybrid role based at the Chicago office in Hyde Park.
