About the position
The Senior Finance & Strategy Analyst, Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the company through actionable financial analysis. This position involves working cross-functionally with key stakeholders to drive performance, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and provide reporting and analytics. The analyst will also engage in ad hoc analyses and presentations to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and oversight of the company budgets and forecasts.
- Produce ongoing sales and profitability reforecasts based on current business trends and strategic initiatives.
- Provide reporting of various business metrics and performance, including weekly/period financials and profitability analysis.
- Conduct key operations-level expense analysis focusing on Food Cost, Labor, and Repairs & Maintenance.
- Produce various analytical tools and reports, including Peer Group Trends & Analysis and Labor trends & analysis.
- Support Operations, Marketing, and other functions with profitability analysis and decision support.
- Investigate and answer questions regarding period-end financials, including sales and expenses.
- Provide cross-functional support to operations and marketing with financial insights on promotional offers and pricing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience in a multi-unit Financial Planning & Analysis function.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven knowledge and experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity to understand the intricacies of functions or initiatives.
- Experience with financial software applications and data mining skills.
