About the position

At BuildOps, we're building a groundbreaking software solution, purpose-built to support today's commercial contractors. We love driven, self-motivated folks experienced in tech start-ups and thrive in fast-paced environments. BuildOps is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A to join our rapidly growing team. You will be directly reporting to the Controller. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can work in a distributed team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial reporting and planning processes, including monthly flux analysis, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) forecasting, budget variance tracking, workforce planning, and supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process.
  • Help prepare and deliver financial insights to stakeholders, including department leads, executives, and the board, ensuring clarity in performance trends and risks.
  • Identify, improve, and enhance financial reporting capabilities using Workday Adaptive Planning and related systems to streamline planning processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business partners, department leads, and executives to ensure financial data is accurately captured and communicated.
  • Assist in the design, modeling, and calculation of commission plans, working closely with RevOps and Accounting to build, test, and analyze incentive structures.
  • Support external audits by assisting with data preparation, providing documentation, and working with Accounting to address queries.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in finance or related field.
  • Experience in a SaaS or technology startup environment is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
