About the position

We are seeking a Senior GCP Data & Analytics Engineer to lead the development of our cutting-edge cloud analytics platforms. This role is pivotal in driving our data strategy, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will utilize your skill set to analyze and transform large datasets, support Enabling Platforms and Analytics in GCP, and ensure our data infrastructure meets expanding business needs. You will be supporting building data pipelines, processes for Supply Chain Management to help create reports and awareness of potential supply issues. Someone with GDIA GCP data engineering, data modeling and Ford Supply Chain experiences will be an ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and define complex data requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Architect and implement sophisticated ETL pipelines, ensuring efficient data integration into BigQuery from diverse batch and streaming sources, with a focus on Supply Chain IT solutions.
  • Design, build and optimize advanced data models to support comprehensive business intelligence and analytics. Hands on experience is a must.
  • Spearhead the development and maintenance of data ingestion and analytics pipelines using cutting-edge tools and technologies, including Python, SQL, and DBT/Dataform.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data quality and integrity across all data processes.
  • Data workflow management using Astronomer and Terraform for cloud infrastructure, promoting best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Lead the creation of interactive dashboards and reports using QlikSense, providing strategic insights and data visualization.
  • Conduct thorough data mapping, impact analysis, root cause analysis, and document data lineage to support robust data governance.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for data engineering processes, promoting knowledge sharing and system maintainability.
  • Utilize GCP monitoring tools to proactively address performance issues and ensure system resilience, while providing expert production support.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members on data transformation initiatives, championing data utility within the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Experience with GCP data engineering and data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and DBT/Dataform.
  • Experience with data quality and integrity management.
  • Familiarity with data workflow management tools like Astronomer and Terraform.
  • Experience in creating dashboards and reports using QlikSense.
  • Strong analytical skills for data mapping and impact analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Previous experience in a mentorship or leadership role.
