Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in Portland, Oregon. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for directing and executing geotechnical project assignments, which include field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, and report preparation. This position requires a strong commitment to quality control, ensuring that proposals and reports meet the highest standards. You will also play a key role in business development and marketing efforts, establishing and maintaining relationships with clients. Mentoring and training both senior and junior staff will be a significant part of your responsibilities, as will actively participating in relationship building with professional and technical organizations. Responsibilities

  • Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, and report preparation.
  • Provide quality control review of proposals and reports to ensure commitments to clients are consistently met.
  • Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Mentor and train senior and junior professional staff.
  • Engage in relationship building with professional and technical organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited/ABET school.
  • 10 years' progressive Geotechnical experience with active project management.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Oregon.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and related disciplines.

Nice-to-haves
