About the position

This is an engineering technical lead position that includes defining project goals and requirements, developing solution architecture, and working with program management to develop the plan and budget for projects. It requires full system knowledge and analytical ability, while collaborating with other experts within the organization to develop highly effective, efficient solutions. Projects include optical inspection and metrology systems using a wide range of optical technologies. Healthy collaboration will include all stakeholders, from customers and marketing through supply chain, production, field service, and applications engineering.

Requirements

  • Strong technical capabilities with a pragmatic, results-oriented focus
  • 10+ years' experience in high precision optical or semiconductor capital instruments, or related experience
  • Strong skills in ideation, brainstorming, prototyping, developing, and releasing complex optical tools
  • MS/Ph.D. degree in optical engineering, physics, EE or other relevant disciplines preferred
  • Excellent collaboration skills to develop system level requirements
  • Strong evaluation/analytical skills to identify root requirements and causes
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally (up to 10%)
  • Experience using MATLAB, LabVIEW, and ZEMAX is a plus
  • Knowledge in optical inspection, metrology, spectroscopy, ellipsometry, and reflectometry is a plus
  • Ability to independently design and perform design of experiments related to optical instrumentation

  • Experience in optical inspection and metrology systems
