Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Human Resources Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and provide support for the Operations organization. This leadership opportunity is located in Palmdale, CA. This position has significant leadership contact and requires a candidate with strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change. Successful candidates will possess strong communication and executive presence, a depth and breadth of knowledge across all HR functions including talent acquisition, talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and compensation. Experience working in a matrix organization is a plus. Key Responsibilities include leading a team of HR Business Partners supporting approximately 2,000 employees in the Production Engineering & Optimization organization (PE&O) and reporting into the Human Resources Business Leader for AS Operations. The role involves supporting Operations leadership and acting as a strategic partner and consultant to position the organization to meet long-term vision and strategy. The focus will be on future functional Operations homeroom growth, strengthening and optimizing the Operations function, and will require business acumen, leadership engagement, and high levels of emotional intelligence to meet both current and future needs. The HR Manager will influence peers and all levels of management, including executives, and implement change management practices to shift culture and drive changes in leadership behavior. Establishing strong business relationships with client leadership teams and creating effective partnerships across HR, centers of excellence (COE's), business management, sector functions, and operating divisions is essential. Leadership development, succession planning, and enabling leaders to make informed decisions about talent are also key aspects of this role. The HR Manager will play a key change leadership role in the company's transformation by creating a culture of growth, innovation, and risk-taking, while providing day-to-day people leadership of the HR team and fostering an environment that accelerates the development of HR talent.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with HR business partners.
  • Utilize data and analytics to develop solutions to current business issues and engage in risk mitigation.
  • Recommend and implement best practices in talent acquisition, development, compensation, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Analyze and present information to the management team to enable informed business decisions.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 8 years of relevant experience, including experience leading HR teams.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills with the ability to establish strong rapport and credibility as a thought leader.
  • Ability to influence impact and outcomes at all levels across the business and develop an internal network to gain support for HR best practices.
  • Ability to navigate cultural and business sensitivities to champion diversity and inclusion, performance, and employee engagement.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Management, or related field.
  • Over 2 years of formal people leadership experience.
  • Experience working with a matrix or homeroom environment.
  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance.
