About the position

The Senior iOS Application Engineer at HCA Healthcare is responsible for the development and maintenance of the mobile patient portal application. This role requires a highly motivated individual with experience in mobile application development, particularly in iOS and Android environments. The engineer will work in a Lean/Agile development setting, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

Responsibilities

• Execute on the development commitments of HCA's mobile patient portal application.
• Analyze requirements and drive discovery to implement solutions with minimal supervision.
• Lead and manage development projects from inception to implementation.
• Oversee the work of other team developers when necessary.
• Collaborate with leadership, product managers, business analysts, and mobile developers to identify and solve complex problems.
• Stay current with mobile interaction guidelines and operating systems.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of experience in a senior Android and/or iOS development role.
• Fluency in Kotlin, Java, RxJava, JavaScript, Swift, and Objective-C.
• Experience with memory management and performance profiling.
• Familiarity with JSON, REST-based APIs, and interfacing applications to server-side APIs.
• Experience with Gradle, Maven, CocoaPods, Flurry, TestFlight, and/or GitHub.
• Strong understanding of Android and/or Apple's Human Interface Guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Healthcare mobility solution design and delivery.
• Mentoring junior developers.
• Formal experience as a member of a mobile application development team.
