About the position

The CPG Ad Sales Team is responsible for the marketing vision, development, and growth of our advertising partnerships. This team is rapidly growing, and is seeking additional team members to build an industry-leading ads and promotions business across DoorDash's CPG offerings. The growing DoorDash ads business has quickly become the single best place for merchants and brands to market to local customers, in an ecosystem that benefits all parties. As the Senior Industry Manager, Mid Market CPG, you will lead a team of Sales Development Representatives, Account Executives, and Post Sales Managers to build partnerships that create tangible value for both advertisers and DoorDash. In this role, you will manage the entire ads strategy across the Mid-Market and Emerging segments of the CPG business (includes subcategories of alcohol, personal care, household, beverages, sweets, snacks, pantry, fresh, frozen, pets), and drive adoption of our growing ads and promotions offering. You will work cross-functionally with strategy, operations, marketing, analytics, and product, to innovate on our future approach and solutions. You will report into the Head of CPG Advertising Sales, in our Sales & Business Development organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Mid Market Account Executives, Post Sales Managers and Strategic Development Managers to exceed business growth and product/feature adoption goals.
  • Establish trusted senior level customer relationships and deliver thought leadership in the CPG industry.
  • Represent advertiser needs to influence Ads & Promos product roadmap and go to market strategy.
  • Develop sales materials and processes to enable future scale of the team and business.
  • Create annual and quarterly sales plans and analyses to achieve ambitious goals and help customers meet their business and marketing objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years managing a sales team effectively and leading team performance management to meet and exceed goals.
  • Overall Industry Experience of 10+ years.
  • Consultative seller with significant experience in digital media or adjacent performance-oriented industries.
  • Experience building scaled mid market and/or emerging businesses.
  • Expert in using data and insights to inform recommendations, rooted in advertiser objectives and business priorities.
  • Firm understanding of digital technologies within the marketing/media mix, and savvy with digital advertising measurements from attribution to funnel metrics.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills, with experience operating across several levels of an organization.
  • Experience hiring and recruiting top and diverse talent to drive outsized impact on the business and contribute to company culture.
  • Experience working directly with CPG advertisers or similar.
