About the position

The Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer position at Wood involves leading the design and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for mining and minerals projects. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, particularly in the context of minerals and metals processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing control strategies, designing control systems, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet project specifications and client expectations. In this role, the engineer will leverage their extensive experience in I&C engineering to oversee the design of systems related to material handling, crushing, grinding, particle separation, and flotation systems. The position demands proficiency in SCADA systems, PLCs, and DCS, as well as a solid grasp of process control theory, including PID control loops. The engineer will also be tasked with creating functional specifications and control narratives, ensuring that all designs are robust and reliable. The Senior Engineer will be expected to utilize industry-standard design software such as Smart Plant, Solid Works, and AutoCAD, and will have hands-on experience with PLC and HMI configuration software. Additionally, the role requires expertise in instrumentation applications for measuring flow, level, temperature, and pressure, along with experience in instrumentation selection, specification, installation, calibration, and configuration. The engineer will also need to demonstrate a general understanding of online stream analyzers and be familiar with the relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing the industry.
