About the position

As a Senior IT Project Manager at Orange County's Credit Union, you will play a pivotal role in our Project Management Office (PMO) department. With over 85 years of experience and a commitment to serving more than 123,000 members, our organization is dedicated to putting people first. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of medium to large-scale technical and non-technical projects. Your key duties will include analyzing, creating, and managing various project documents, plans, and communications, as well as directing project meetings and sessions that involve diverse stakeholders. You will also manage resources and coordinate efforts between team members and third-party contractors to ensure the successful delivery of Credit Union projects. In this role, you will independently manage multiple projects of medium to large size and complexity with minimal oversight. You will be tasked with delivering key project documentation, including project plans, project charters, work breakdown structures, status reports, communication plans, and other documentation in alignment with the established Project Management Lifecycle. Additionally, you will manage various aspects of project delivery, including discovery, resource utilization, procurement, training, issue resolution, employee relations, cost, budget, managing milestones, vendor relations, and stakeholder engagement. Proactively managing changes in project scope, anticipating potential risks, and formulating contingency plans will also be essential to your success. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with business partners to ensure that solutions are delivered as agreed upon in the Product Roadmap. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to mentor, coach, and train junior project managers, fostering a culture of growth and development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage multiple projects of medium to large size and complexity with little to no oversight.
  • Deliver key project documentation including project plans, project charters, work breakdown structures, status reports, communication plans, and other documentation in alignment with the established Project Management Lifecycle.
  • Manage various aspects of project delivery including discovery, resource utilization, procurement, training, issue resolution, employee relations, cost, budget, managing milestones, vendor relations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, anticipate potential risks, and formulate contingency plans.
  • Work closely with business partners to ensure that solutions are delivered as agreed upon in the Product Roadmap.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior project managers.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years or more of professional experience with a minimum of eight (8) years directly in project management roles.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT Project Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, ACP, or similar).
  • Scrum certification (CSP or similar).
