About the position

The Senior IT Technical Project Manager (Infrastructure) at the American College of Surgeons is responsible for the overall planning, management, communication, and execution of IT Service Management (ITSM) projects. This role requires extensive project management experience and knowledge of IT service management methodologies, ensuring effective collaboration across business units and IT management. The position involves managing multiple projects, establishing project scope, and maintaining communication with senior leadership and vendors to ensure quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute ITSM projects within IT and across business units.
  • Work directly with senior leadership and program sponsors to establish project scope and work plans.
  • Identify human resource requirements and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to identify technical approaches for projects.
  • Ensure effective communication at all levels internally and with vendors.
  • Establish and nurture trusted relationships with senior management, project staff, and vendors.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently to stay on course with project timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of project management experience, including management of complex technology infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and best practices is strongly desired; certification is a plus.
  • Experience managing technology cybersecurity projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Sharepoint, Monday.com, or Microsoft Project is strongly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and vendor staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge and practical application of project management methods based on PMI best practices desired.
  • Considerable ability to develop, lead, motivate, and supervise project working groups.
