About the position

A leading consulting firm in Santa Clara, renowned for its excellence in providing comprehensive solutions to engineers in the electronics and silicon chip design industries, is seeking a talented Senior Linux System Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals who excel in large-scale, high-growth environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and maintaining thousands of Linux servers at scale. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the performance, stability, and security of critical infrastructure while leveraging automation tools like Ansible to streamline processes. As a Senior Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining over 20,000 Linux systems in a complex and scalable environment. You will ensure optimal performance of core services such as DNS, LDAP, NIS, NTP, and DHCP. Troubleshooting and resolving advanced system issues with precision will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also utilize RedHat tools, including Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite, and Identity Management, to ensure system integrity and smooth operations. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux environments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain over 20k+ Linux systems in a complex and scalable environment
  • Ensure optimal performance of core services such as DNS, LDAP, NIS, NTP, and DHCP
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced system issues with precision
  • Utilize RedHat tools, including Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite, and Identity Management, to ensure system integrity and smooth operations

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing large-scale Linux environments (10,000+)
  • Strong knowledge of core infrastructure services (DNS, LDAP, NIS, NTP, DHCP)
  • Hands-on experience with RedHat tools and Ansible Automation
  • Proficient in scripting with Bash and Python
