About the position

The Senior Manager, Accounting at Performant is a strategic and experienced accounting professional responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and collaborating with various business units to enhance process efficiencies. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, allowing the Senior Manager to influence financial strategies and policies while ensuring effective day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Assist in building and leading a service-oriented team and related processes and internal controls.
• Ensure robust internal controls to safeguard accounting processes and provide accurate financial reporting.
• Assess and proactively mitigate financial risks while recommending improvements to operational efficiency.
• Partner with operational leaders to drive company-wide financial process improvements.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of internal controls, including narratives and process flowcharts.
• Identify and drive system enhancements to ensure scalable and efficient financial operations.
• Foster collaboration between departments to improve financial literacy and understanding of accounting processes.
• Develop and mentor Accounting team members for continuous professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is required.
• 10+ years of experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and related areas with increasing leadership responsibilities.
• 6+ years of experience managing/supervising staff within an Accounting group.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP system required.
