About the position

The Senior Benefits Manager at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for the implementation, communication, and administration of comprehensive benefit programs. This role involves collaborating with the Director of Benefits to develop a long-term benefits strategy that enhances talent attraction and retention. The position requires oversight of health and welfare benefits, compliance with regulations, and management of the leave of absence process, while also leading a team of benefits analysts to ensure a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Benefits to refine and implement a long-term benefits strategy.
  • Assist in partnering with regional HR in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica to create a global benefits strategy.
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and administer benefits policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an understanding of the business to create aligned solutions for employee experience.
  • Provide oversight of day-to-day administration of health and welfare benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with benefits consultants and vendors.
  • Drive employee understanding of benefits programs through documentation and education.
  • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Work closely with Director of Benefits on M&A activity related to benefits.
  • Manage all aspects of the leave of absence process, including ADA accommodations and disability programs.
  • Oversee complex escalated leave of absence and ADA issues.
  • Resolve complex benefits issues and inquiries.
  • Work with internal audit to deliver audit requirements.
  • Supervise a team of benefits analysts, setting goals and monitoring performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration.
  • Focused on employee experience and process improvement.
  • Ability to lead projects from start to finish in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Deep knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and other regulations.
  • Leadership and team building skills to motivate and develop team members.
