The Senior Manager, Distribution Standards Engineering & Asset Strategy is responsible for overseeing teams that are involved in engineering standards, technical support, and consultation for field operations, as well as technical documentation writing, publishing, and management. This role ensures that the company's engineering and design standards align with safety, reliability performance, and compliance requirements. The position is hybrid, allowing for work from a remote office and an assigned work location based on business needs within the PG&E Service Territory. In this role, the Senior Manager will manage assigned department material problem reports (MPR), conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions. They will oversee a team of specialists who provide technical field support on distribution construction standards, ensuring the proper use and installation of electric equipment. The manager will also address complex and escalated issues, ensuring prompt responses and prioritization of work. Additionally, the Senior Manager will oversee the writing, reviewing, editing, and management of technical documents, ensuring that all documents are consistently formatted, current, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements. They will manage the PCC budget for the team and oversee the creation, revision, and maintenance of all work procedures and standards. Collaboration with various groups in asset management is essential to support company initiatives such as Enterprise Risk Management, seismic mitigation activities, and wildfire management. The role also involves managing distribution guidance documents, representing PG&E in external technical workshops and committees, and developing process changes to improve safety, productivity, reliability, quality, and customer focus. The Senior Manager will participate in cross-functional team meetings aimed at improving PG&E's engineering and design criteria, equipment procurement, and construction processes. They will also identify new technology opportunities for enhancing substation and transmission standards and manage the approval process for equipment vendors and new electric guidance documents. Finally, the Senior Manager will be responsible for effective recruitment, selection, training, development, performance management, and recognition of staff to achieve departmental goals.
