About the position

The Senior Manager, Gross to Net at Chiesi is responsible for overseeing the gross-to-net governance committee and enhancing the company's revenue recognition processes. This role involves managing revenue accounting, including gross-to-net allowances, month-end close, reporting, and forecasting. The position requires significant cross-functional collaboration and aims to improve operational efficiency and internal controls related to revenue accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a streamlined operational process for gross to net evaluation.
  • Establish quarterly alignment sessions with the governance team to review actual results and discuss early actions.
  • Represent Finance on the Pricing Committee and present trends for product pricing decisions.
  • Create and maintain revenue accounting procedures and policy manuals.
  • Evaluate and administer revenue systems and databases with IT assistance.
  • Enhance process efficiency using current ERP and Reporting system data.
  • Assist with process improvements, risk mitigation, and internal control enhancement.
  • Attend industry conferences to understand practices and regulatory impacts.
  • Lead gross to net education sessions for employees as needed.
  • Oversee month-end closing process for the product portfolio, including reserve account roll forwards.
  • Perform monthly reasonableness procedures for balance sheet reserves accuracy.
  • Assist accounting with gross to net fluctuations on royalty calculations.
  • Assist with year-end audit inquiries related to revenue accounting.
  • Assist Revenue Analyst with weekly Net Sales Reports and commentary on rate changes.
  • Establish and maintain analytics and KPIs for sales allowances.
  • Develop and maintain trend data for gross to net analyses.
  • Review quarterly analyses of rates and accrual adequacy prepared by Revenue Analyst.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly gross to net revenue analysis and commentary.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as required.
  • Lead forecast and budget gross to net estimation processes.
  • Develop and document rates of gross to net sales allowances.
  • Highlight potential changes in forecast assumptions based on business changes.
  • Directly manage employees on the GTN team according to policies and laws.
  • Develop employees through goal setting and evaluations.
  • Ensure cross-training of team members for continuity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience with at least 1-2 years in revenue accounting in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Pharmaceutical experience required.
  • 1-2 years of people management experience required.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in written, verbal, and face-to-face communication.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work through ambiguous data.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction.
  • Advanced skill in MS Office Excel.
  • Aptitude to learn computer programs as needed; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid model out of Cary, NC office.
