About the position

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) at Mercer will play a pivotal role in supporting the OCIO Investments Business by driving the development and implementation of technology solutions tailored to investment management. This hybrid position requires collaboration with business users to integrate solutions into Mercer's technology framework while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The TPM will manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize investment management domain experience to understand and address the unique needs of Mercer's OCIO Business.
  • Collaborate with business users to provide technical guidance on integrating their solutions into Mercer's technology framework while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Apply TPM skills and business analysis techniques to gather requirements, define product roadmaps, and prioritize feature development.
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Engage with investment teams and stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide effective technology solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration); advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in the investment management industry, focusing on LDI, direct trading, fixed income, OTC instruments, and portfolio management/order management (OMS) platforms.
  • Proven track record in TPM roles, demonstrating strong business analysis, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with both vendor and in-house built technology solutions in the investment technology space.
  • Understanding of the operational challenges and requirements of a direct trading investment firm.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in both Agile and traditional project management models, with certifications in project or agile management disciplines being a strong plus.
  • Ability to work independently and drive execution within a geographically dispersed global team.
  • Experience with State Street Alpha, Charles River, Risk/Analytics Platforms (e.g., PORT, Factset, Yield Book), or Jacobi is a plus.
