About the position

Zayo is seeking a Senior Manager of Service Delivery Design and Engineering to be responsible for overseeing a Managed Services team that provides technical support, system administration, and infrastructure management for HCPS school district. Our Senior Manager of Service Delivery Design and Engineering ensures the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-performing network infrastructure that support instructional and administrative operations at 280+ facilities. The Senior Manager of Service Delivery Design and Engineering will lead a team of wired, wireless, Security, and monitoring IT professionals, and align initiatives with the district's IT management goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of IT Monitoring, wireless network engineers, and network engineers in delivering managed services.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations to provide timely and effective support for the client, the on-site ENA/Zayo team, and Zayo corporate functions.
  • Recommend and develop and implement technology strategies that align with the district's stated objectives.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure to optimize end-user network functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and availability, providing communications to support teams and reporting as requested by district IT Managers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for infrastructure technology to vendors and providers to manage connectivity tasks.
  • Collaborate with administrative leaders to recommend technology solutions that enhance the educational infrastructure.
  • Lead the team in training and application of IT best practices, corporate policies, and safety procedures for incident management and system updates.
  • Provide training and mentorship to on site team members' professional development and advancement.
  • Communicate with Zayo corporate staff to assess the needs and requirements of the local team to perform the services contracted for.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in IT roles, preferably within an educational or managed services environment with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • This position will require passing all background and driving record checks.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience managing help desk operations, IT support services, and vendor relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with education technology platforms and student information systems.
  • Understanding of IT Best Practice, Industry Standards, and data security incident response.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a K-12 school district or higher education setting.
  • Familiar with Meraki, Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet and Aruba network platforms.
  • Proficient in Office365, FreshService, and Workday functionality.
