Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Molding Process

About the position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Molding Process at General Dynamics Mission Systems is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. This role requires strong communication with internal teams to estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. The engineer will apply advanced technologies to solve customer missions in various domains, including cyber and RF. The position is based in Greensboro, NC, and requires a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes for molding.
• Estimate manufacturing costs and determine time standards.
• Make recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
• Document and maintain procedures, process qualifications, and work instructions.
• Provide technical input for Design for Manufacturing (DfM).
• Lead initiatives using six sigma methodology.
• Provide shop floor support and training to associates.
• Monitor competitive benchmarks to ensure processes are cost-effective.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and applications.
• Experience with polymer molding, processing, and optimization.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and design software (e.g., Creo, Solidworks).
• Ability to drive improvement and change through data.
