As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the long-term management of mechanical systems within our theme parks, acting as the owner's representative. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices, as well as the ability to make mid to high-level technical decisions that influence design outcomes independently of management oversight. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in both technical and administrative application software, ensuring the successful completion of engineering projects that meet the Senior Engineer level of responsibility. You will also be responsible for representing the organization among clients and customers, articulating solutions that align with the business objectives of the segment. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and customers will be essential to your success. You will work closely with the Manager of Programs Project Design Support, providing leadership in day-to-day accountabilities and participating in key initiatives that require interpersonal skills. Your responsibilities will include updating partners, clients, and co-workers on task statuses and schedules, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for a self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and consultants effectively while demonstrating a commitment to continuing education and professional growth in the field of mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the owner's representative in the application of mechanical engineering principles and practices for the long-term management of mechanical systems in theme parks.
  • Make mid to high-level technical decisions that affect design outcomes independently of management.
  • Represent the organization among clients or customers when articulating solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical and administrative application software for engineering projects.
  • Provide leadership in day-to-day accountabilities and participate in pivotal interpersonal initiatives.
  • Update partners, clients, and co-workers on task statuses and schedules.

Requirements

  • PE License
  • Seven-plus years of experience in the design of HVAC systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Dedication to continuing education and growing technical proficiency
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and manage consultants in project delivery
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Member of a Professional Society
  • Experience with the selection of pumps
  • Knowledge of the Florida Department of Health requirements for swimming pools and an understanding of filtration and circulation systems of pools
  • Familiarity with Epcot, Florida Gas, and Plumbing codes.
