At Disney, we pride ourselves on being storytellers who make the impossible possible. We achieve this by applying and developing groundbreaking technology and challenging the limitations of creativity to bring our stories to life across various platforms, including movies, television programs, theme parks, resorts, and consumer products. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the long-term management of mechanical systems within our theme parks, acting as the owner's representative. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices, as well as the ability to make mid to high-level technical decisions that influence design outcomes independently of management oversight. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in both technical and administrative application software, ensuring the successful completion of engineering projects that meet the Senior Engineer level of responsibility. You will also be responsible for representing the organization among clients and customers, articulating solutions that align with the business objectives of the segment. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and customers will be essential to your success. You will work closely with the Manager of Programs Project Design Support, providing leadership in day-to-day accountabilities and participating in key initiatives that require interpersonal skills. Your responsibilities will include updating partners, clients, and co-workers on task statuses and schedules, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for a self-starter who can manage multiple tasks and consultants effectively while demonstrating a commitment to continuing education and professional growth in the field of mechanical engineering.
