About the position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in designing and analyzing HVAC and plumbing systems for various building projects. This position requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, particularly in the areas of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing. You will be responsible for conducting load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling to ensure that the systems you design are efficient and effective. Your expertise will be essential in coordinating with other engineering disciplines, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned and that the final installations comply with the construction documents. In this role, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, working within established schedules to deliver high-quality results. You will prepare detailed construction cost estimates and assist in developing contract specifications, while also researching new procedures and products that can enhance project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Design heating-ventilation-cooling systems and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct load calculations, life cycle costing, and energy modeling.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment.
  • Review installation of designed equipment/systems for compliance with construction documents.
  • Perform duties with multiple projects within the established schedules.
  • Work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexity.
  • Manage concurrent projects effectively.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates, both in a broad and detailed scope.
  • Assist in the development of contract specifications and research the application of new procedures and/or products.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of HVAC and Plumbing design, layout, and/or analysis for building projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Project Management experience.
