About the position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join the Test Equipment Engineering organization at Raytheon, responsible for developing mechanical test systems for various production testing environments. This role involves hands-on design and integration of advanced test solutions, ensuring they meet stringent accuracy and reliability requirements. The position is critical in supporting the verification and qualification of Raytheon products, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing national security.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems for production testing environments.
• Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in mechanical design and/or production support.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools, particularly ProE / CREO Parametric.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to create mechanical drawing packages.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging.
• Experience with Configuration Management processes and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM).
• Experience with cabling, especially utilizing Creo Schematic.
• Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design.
• Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
• Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.).
