We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Mechanical Process Engineer to join our team, working remotely from any of our West Central US offices. This role is pivotal in helping us deliver innovative solutions to our municipal clients' water and wastewater challenges, both locally and globally. In this position, you will be responsible for designing water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance systems. Your expertise will be utilized in technical writing, developing construction drawings, and creating technical specifications. You will leverage your experience to design pump stations for water and wastewater, perform pipe sizing calculations, select pumps, and design process facilities including primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems. Additionally, you will work on rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps and blowers, as well as piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in-plant process piping, chemical systems, and hydraulic studies. Responsibilities

  • Design water and wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities/processes.
  • Develop construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Perform pipe sizing calculations and pump selection.
  • Design process facilities including primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems.
  • Implement design for rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps and blowers.
  • Design piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in-plant process piping and chemical systems.
  • Conduct hydraulic studies for pressurized and open channel systems.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and CAD staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 14 years of experience in water/wastewater process mechanical engineering for municipal clients.
  • Lead Engineer experience.
  • Experience developing construction documents and technical specifications.
  • Process mechanical detailed design experience for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Experience with water/wastewater equipment for municipal clients.
  • Design implementation of rotating equipment.
  • Hydraulic modeling for pressurized and open channel systems.
  • Experience in plant piping system design for water and wastewater systems.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E) License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Design-Build, CMAR/CM-GC and/or EPC projects.
  • Construction support services for water and wastewater projects.
  • Experience in developing project level of effort for the process mechanical design of water and wastewater systems.
