About the position

The Senior Molding Manufacturing Engineer at Medtronic will play a crucial role in the Danvers Molding Operations department, focusing on the design and implementation of molding manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives. This position involves sourcing new molding methods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing product quality through effective engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design molding manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for molding assemblies.
• Validate molding components used to manufacture sub-assemblies.
• Inspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Develop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements.
• Ensure processes, parts drawings, and procedures comply with regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of molding process/project engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of molding process/project engineering experience.
• Technical background in Plastics Machinery and/or processing.
• Experience with catheter manufacturing, extrusion, and injection molding processes.
• Experience in a medical device setting.
• 2-5 years' experience in an ISO13485/GMP environment.
• Six Sigma, Constraint Management, and Lean Manufacturing experience.

Nice-to-haves

• MS in Plastics Engineering
• Documented success rate of new product launch contributions and/or completed capital projects managed on time and on budget.
• Proven success in Project Management.
• Capacity modeling skills.
• Strong statistical skills and knowledge of statistical software (Minitab).
• Technical writing skills.
