About the position

The Senior Offshore Wind Project Manager at AECOM will oversee environmental permitting projects specifically within the Offshore Wind (OSW) market. This role involves managing multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and interfacing with clients and regulatory personnel. The successful candidate will contribute to business strategy, mentor junior staff, and uphold a culture of high-quality work and safety within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and administer staff and projects carried out by those directly reporting to this position.
  • Manage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, applying AECOM's project management systems and software.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams in the preparation of local, state, and federal permitting processes for offshore wind energy projects.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables.
  • Serve as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiatives.
  • Proactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Health & Safety within the team.
  • Provide technical support to the EPP Department and individual Project Managers and support inter-disciplinary business development activities.
  • Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.
  • Perform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Ecology, Policy, or an earth science-related field + 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 8+ years of experience managing projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • US Citizenship is required for this position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in relevant field
  • 8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting / Energy market with applied science in the OSW market.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience desired
  • Understanding of the regulatory and study relationships of interconnects and landfalls
  • Strong technical and regulatory policy background consistent with understanding BOEM Permitting submittals and state regulatory policies.
  • Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
  • Thorough working knowledge of CWA, ESA, NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
  • PMP or other project management certification is a plus.
