About the position

The Senior Operations Analyst at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) plays a crucial role in supporting the design, requirements, and evaluation of innovative strike weapons. This position involves leading a talented team of scientists, engineers, analysts, and software developers to leverage elite analysis capabilities for government sponsors, particularly at Eglin Air Force Base. The analyst will provide technical recommendations, guide analytical capability development, and facilitate collaboration to inform system requirements and support decision-making in precision strike technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical recommendations to support sponsors and guide analytical capability development.
  • Facilitate collaboration with analysts at APL.
  • Perform evaluations of precision strike systems' effectiveness using various analysis tools.
  • Uncover useful data and inform meaningful conclusions to support government decision-making.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a technical or scientific field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with military and civilian leaders.
  • Excellence in performing strike warfare mission-level analysis.
  • Excellent leadership skills for multi-disciplinary technical teams, organization, and planning.
  • Strong initiative, motivation, and ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Skilled in conducting quantitative analysis and effectively communicating sophisticated ideas.
  • Active Top Secret level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS or PhD in a scientific or technical field.
  • Experience using AFSIM.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, FORTRAN, or JAVA.
  • Active Top-Secret security clearance.
