About the position

The Performance Support Team Sr. Operations Technical Writer consults and collaborates with all 14 HealthTrust Supply Chain/Support Services business partners and their respective vendors to create operations support documentation for departments and job roles across HCA HealthCare Hospitals and HealthTrust operations sites. The writer works with the multi-disciplinary performance support team to translate complex supply chain operations into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation and communication assets. The ideal candidate will have experience distilling and explaining complex industry concepts and terms, demonstrate an interest in business operations, and be passionate about producing accessible communication assets. They will also have experience working in matrixed, enterprise companies within highly regulated industries, such as healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accessible, comprehensive, and user-centric materials including regulatory summaries, policies, standard operating procedures, manuals, knowledge articles, and other instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with internal designers to develop concepts and content for infographics and instructional imagery that enhances the clarity of technical content.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company style guides, formatting standards, and healthcare industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing documentation to identify areas for improvement, ensuring documentation is accurate, up to date, and user-friendly.
  • Collaborate with project teams and business partners across 14 Supply Chain/Support Services departments to meet strategic objectives for content initiatives.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of effective written communication for both digital and analog platforms.
  • Partner with translation vendors to adapt English-language content into other languages as requested by business owners.
  • Develop knowledge of healthcare logistics, inventory management, procurement, and distribution systems to ensure continuously relevant and accurate content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in English, Technical Communication or related field - Required
  • 8 or more years' experience in Technical Writing or related field - Required
  • Experience with cloud documentation tools such as SharePoint, Google Docs, MadCap Flare, ZenDesk, ServiceNow, or similar tools - Required
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong understanding of technical documentation, file management standards, and related best practices - Required

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment - Required
