About the position

Flexport is seeking a Sr. People Operations Manager to lead the North American People Operations team. This role is pivotal in transforming HR processes and enhancing the employee experience through innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will be a decisive problem solver with a proactive attitude, capable of managing the full employee lifecycle and driving operational efficiencies. Reporting to the Head of Global People Solutions, the Sr. People Operations Manager will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive roadmap for process transformation, focusing on automation, standardization, and centralization of HR processes and systems. In this role, you will inspire the operations team to streamline employee and manager experiences, enabling HR Business Partners to fulfill their strategic roles effectively. You will manage day-to-day operations, including onboarding, job changes, promotions, international transfers, leaves, and off-boarding processes. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as you establish service level agreements and key performance measures for HR services, aligning resources to achieve them. Additionally, you will lead a team of HR Operations professionals, providing direction and support while enhancing their proficiency in Employee Relations, HR compliance, Immigration, Global Mobility, Benefits operations, and Audits. You will partner with People Leadership and Business Partners to analyze processes and identify work types to be delivered through an HR services delivery model. Your role will also involve managing employee relations and compliance matters, ensuring HR operational rigor with accurate data management and project management practices. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with employment regulations and developing audit and control processes related to labor law, data protection, and reporting. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent project management skills, and the ability to communicate complex strategies into actionable recommendations. Responsibilities

  • Deliver a comprehensive roadmap for process transformation and strong project and change management.
  • Inspire the operations team to deliver streamlined employee and manager experiences.
  • Lead all aspects of the full employee lifecycle transactions including new-hire, onboarding, job changes, promotions, international transfers, leaves, and off-boarding processes.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement lens on centralized operational efficiencies for HR.
  • Establish service level agreements and key performance measures for HR services.
  • Lead a team of HR Operations professionals, providing direction and support.
  • Document and continuously improve full employee lifecycle HR processes and procedures.
  • Drive HR process management ensuring HR operational rigor with accurate data management.
  • Partner with HRIS to develop & implement an innovative and scalable People Operations strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations and best practices.
  • Develop audit and control processes related to labor law, data protection, record-keeping and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration or HR Management.
  • 8+ years of experience in HR/People Operations, preferably in a high growth environment.
  • Experience managing people, preferably 3+ years.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience evaluating, developing, and implementing process improvements through automation and process redesign.
  • Proven track record of organizing a company for improved efficiency in a high growth environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience building cross-functional relationships across an organization.
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with HRIS systems.
  • Demonstration of in-depth knowledge and expertise of Microsoft Office tools and Google suite, especially excel/google sheets.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and practices.
  • Experience scaling operations and/or providing HR support to multi-site organizations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and compliance regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
