About the position

The Senior Planner at TPN is a strategic role focused on developing commerce marketing strategies that drive meaningful change in the retail landscape. This position requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior across various channels, including grocery, drug, and mass markets. The ideal candidate will leverage both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights that inspire creative ideas and effective marketing activation plans. The role emphasizes collaboration within a creative commerce planning team, aiming to foster growth and development while embodying TPN's core values of empathy, curiosity, collaboration, respect, and drive.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with commerce marketing teams across various CPG categories and channels.
  • Serve as a key planning resource for strategic commerce marketing initiatives and quick-turn projects.
  • Lead commerce marketing planning initiatives, creating strategic frameworks and customer-specific plans.
  • Identify and integrate appropriate touchpoints and activations for influencing consumer behavior.
  • Utilize planning tools and client-provided research to derive actionable insights.
  • Support the Planning Director and VP on yearly planning and project-based work.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external teams as a trusted strategic planning partner.
  • Stay culturally curious and integrate modern trends into work processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, including new business and internal initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Strategy Development and Planning roles.
  • Experience in Commerce/Shopper Marketing/Activation/Promotion Agency or Client Marketing/Channel Management.
  • Proficiency in planning tools such as Mintel, Experian Simmons, IRI, Nielsen, and others.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think critically about the path to purchase for clients' brands.
  • Self-starter with effective time management and multitasking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Four-Year Degree (preferred but not required).
  • Exceptional creative brief writing and journey mapping skills.
  • Ability to formulate forward-thinking points of view on industry-related topics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to innovate.
