About the position

The Sr. Policy Manager for the Sales Planning and Policy (SP2) team within AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) Operations is responsible for developing guidelines and implementing policies that support sales planning processes. This high-visibility role involves collaboration with various stakeholders across the organization and aims to shape the business and operating model of a rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to dive deep into areas of policy that need addressing.
  • Investigate disconnects, solicit feedback, gather documents, and gain alignment on proposals.
  • Engage with Segmentation Operations and Business Operations to extract information from internal systems, providing quantitative data about current or projected impact of a component of Policy.
  • Conduct desk research to confirm findings or to introduce a proposal for further internal research.
  • Lead policy reviews, lending a customer-obsessed and data-driven view to the conversation.
  • Document new or amended policy for inclusion in our system of record.
  • Support product partners in the codification of policy into software and other tooling.
  • Support the SP2 team and other cross-functional partners in answering questions, making judgment calls, and resolving disputes about applying policy.
  • Own policy development initiatives.
  • Take on ad hoc related projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of sales operations or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience in successfully driving complex projects and programs.

  • Master's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
