About the position

The position at Figure involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of real estate, unsecured, and non-traditional loans, ensuring compliance with various guidelines and regulations. The role requires strategic management of staff assignments to minimize risk and maximize portfolio recoveries, while also collaborating with the Capital Markets team to meet investor needs. The incumbent will refine processes, document procedures, and engage in continuous learning to adapt to the evolving financial landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Direct oversight and performance management of $200M+ in assets with multiple subservicers.
  • Ensure compliance with existing subservicers and source new partners as required.
  • Make fiscal decisions on default-related activities to maximize recoveries and minimize losses.
  • Prepare and lead performance presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enhance daily reports from subservicers to meet timelines and resolve issues.
  • Maintain detailed records of high-priority loan segments and provide regular updates.
  • Provide feedback on roll rates, call calibrations, and issues management.
  • Partner with third-party risk to evaluate vendors and subservicers on a quarterly basis.
  • Conduct routine meetings with subservicers for account reviews and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate with investor partners regarding seriously delinquent loans and co-host meetings with subservicers and investors.
  • Partner with various business lines to resolve complex matters promptly.
  • Reconcile transfer reports for data inaccuracies and discrepancies.
  • Review legal contracts to ensure compliance with delegation of authority.
  • Create and maintain job aids and working guides.
  • Suggest and implement outreach strategies for unengaged customers.
  • Conduct on-site due diligence and performance reviews of subservicer partners and vendors.
  • Foster a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead through change in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of mortgage-related portfolio or asset management experience.
  • 1+ years of default mortgage experience.
  • Working knowledge of bankruptcy terminology and requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of title theory, standing, and lien enforceability.
  • Good understanding of recoverability based on loan attributes and external factors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders and external partners.
  • Positive energy and willingness to tackle new tasks and policies.
  • Ability to document policy adherence and identify outliers.
  • Ability to navigate data and complex reporting to identify trends.
  • Proven success in critical thinking, problem solving, and process improvement.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
