About the position

The Senior Privacy Assessment Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the privacy and security of data within global systems at RGA. This position involves monitoring, evaluating, and making recommendations regarding data privacy, collaborating with compliance and security professionals, and conducting various assessments to mitigate privacy risks. The analyst will also participate in the development of policies and procedures related to data protection and privacy, ensuring compliance with global regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate the privacy of data in global systems.
  • Provide recommendations for safeguarding systems and data for security and privacy.
  • Collaborate with compliance, security, and privacy professionals on related projects.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA), and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIA).
  • Draft Privacy Notices and coordinate discussions with stakeholders.
  • Follow up on remediation activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Participate in the development of policies, standards, controls, and procedures related to privacy and security audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree or professional certification preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in data privacy, audit, controls, or regulatory compliance.
  • General knowledge of business and technology operations.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of global data privacy standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and stay current on data privacy and security.
  • Intermediate organizational, planning, and task management skills with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new methods and demonstrate accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Insurance/Reinsurance industry experience or certifications.
  • Data privacy professional certifications, such as CIPP.
  • Intermediate understanding of domestic and global security & privacy regulations.
