About the position

The Senior Procurement Business Partner for BioLife at Takeda Pharmaceuticals is responsible for overseeing procurement activities that support the operations of plasma collection centers across the United States. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders within the Biolife organization and requires a strong focus on CAPEX, operational services, and sourcing strategies to ensure supply security and compliance with procurement governance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage CAPEX (Services and Equipment), Operational Services, and IFM related sourcing activities for the Biolife US organization.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies and tactical implementation plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure ethical and compliant leadership in procurement, contracting, and supplier management activities.
  • Identify and map key stakeholders within the Biolife US organization and maintain close relationships with them.
  • Develop awareness of the Biolife Procurement Governance Model and ensure compliance in collaboration with procurement functions.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of GREFP, Direct Procurement, CoE, and TBS projects and initiatives.
  • Perform proactive risk identification, analysis, management, and mitigation in procurement categories.
  • Maintain regular savings and cost avoidance reporting in the Wave system for the Biolife US organization.

Requirements

  • Degree level educated with a business-related degree (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant Sourcing & Procurement experience, particularly in senior stakeholder management and cost reduction projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of major spend categories and potential cost levers.
  • Experience in Category Management principles and development of sourcing strategies.
  • Proven financial and business acumen (e.g., TCO, PPV, NPV & Cost Modeling).
  • Expert proficiency in basic MS Office software.

  • Post graduate business-related qualification.
  • Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (e.g., Ariba, Emptoris).
  • Professional Purchasing or Finance related licenses or certifications.
