About The Position

The Senior Procurement Manager Indirect is responsible for procurement activities addressing a global external spend of over $80M of indirect materials and services. Responsibilities include setting global policies, procedures and indirect category strategies while having effective collaboration with relevant functions such as finance, manufacturing and engineering. This position is a member of the Teknor Apex Procurement management team.

Requirements

  • 8 years minimum procurement and industry specific experience showing progressive levels of leadership and decision-making responsibility.
  • Minimum of a four-year degree in a field of study such as engineering, business, logistics, science, or accounting or equivalent training in a related business or technical area.
  • MBA/MS degree strongly preferred.
  • APICS certification or similar association desired but not required.
  • A high degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking is required to devise new technically complex problems.
  • Proven experience in evaluating suppliers and partnerships to provide the most cost-effective ways of doing business.
  • Demonstrated understanding of organic & inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and mathematics beyond those typically found in a four-year degree program.
  • Excellent communications and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and systematically manage stakeholder relationships to find the optimum balance between meeting company needs and delivering total value.
  • Communicate the results of negotiations and strategy development to management, stakeholders, and all impacted functional areas.
  • Develop long-term relationships with suppliers to realize Total Value for Teknor Apex.
  • Leverage a standard framework to classify suppliers and implement SRM programs.
  • Develop and update annual indirect spend plans with stakeholders including detailed analysis of past and future spending and existing relationships.
  • Develop and manage multi-year plan and pipelines of sourcing initiatives.
  • Evaluate viable sources around the world to find the optimal source meeting service, quality, cost, sustainability, and risk mitigation objectives.
  • Implement strategic sourcing initiatives including analyzing markets and creating global alignment.
  • Partner with stakeholders to build robust scopes of work and develop sourcing strategies for individual initiatives.
  • Prepare and implement advanced negotiation strategies.
  • Develop and expand strategies across global channels in conjunction with counterparts in Asia and Europe.
  • Evaluate and monitor the risk profile of the supply base and implement risk improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the portfolio of sourcing initiatives and deliver cost reductions against challenging current and multi-year saving targets.
  • Lead and administratively manage procurement managers and buyers.
