About the position

We are currently seeking a Senior Product Designer for our AI Platform team. In this role, you will play a key role in establishing Vanta’s AI offerings, improving our Design System, and contributing to design strategy across many product areas. You will be part of the core AI team, working alongside a multidisciplinary group of product engineers, machine learning engineers, product managers, and security and compliance experts to accelerate AI innovation and adoption. You will be responsible for establishing design patterns and best practices to empower Vanta’s product teams as they create and enhance high-quality AI products used to automate and streamline key customer workflows. Ideal candidates have a proven track record of creating exceptional B2B SaaS products that deliver impactful customer experiences while streamlining complex workflows. You thrive in ambiguous and complex environments, using autonomy to drive innovation and improve ease of use for knowledge management and workflow automation. You love experimentation and learning from customers. While experience in GRC or security is a plus, it’s not required—many of our team members have excelled without prior industry experience. The Experience Design organization champions our customers by creating and delivering efficient consumer grade experiences through our trust management platform. You will report to a Design Director within the Experience Design Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of strategic, shared components and features that drive significant customer value and promote consistency across the platform.
  • Engage in customer discovery to shape feature strategy and design scalable experiences that align with the business goals.
  • Collaborate with product teams to identify and advocate for design initiatives that have a broad organizational impact.
  • Foster collaboration among design peers to ensure shared solutions are effective and adaptable across various areas of the platform.
  • Enhance our design system, ensuring additions support strategic objectives and uphold high design standards across the organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience delivering high-quality B2B SaaS products on large-scale projects, with a strong focus on high-quality design execution.
  • Proven ability to create designs that drive business impact by deeply understanding the domain, leveraging customer insights, validating decisions through research, and influencing internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in leading the design process from ambiguity to execution for entire product areas, maintaining high executional quality and organizational impact.
  • Prior experience designing automated processes and utilizing AI to effectively solve customer pain points.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams (e.g., subject matter experts, engineers, sales), translating complex technical concepts into intuitive, customer-friendly designs.
  • Proven ability to mentor and influence others, including senior and executive management teams, driving design strategy, systemic thinking, and product sensibility.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems, and managing projects with proactive escalation handling.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A portfolio is required, showcasing consumer-grade craftsmanship and product solutions tailored to customer needs.
