About the position

As the Senior Product Designer for Merchant Onboarding & Activation, you’ll define the user experience for merchants to discover DoorDash, onboard, and set themselves up for success. You’ll be responsible for influencing the strategic direction of the team, and will be involved in the entire product development process from research to creating visions to iterating on experiences for launch. Your success requires being able to navigate low- and high-altitude work simultaneously, balancing short-term tactical experiments with long-term strategic bets. You’ll need to be passionate about helping merchants succeed, as you’ll be expected to drive design strategy with sometimes ambiguous starting points, using data, running experiments, and building business cases to influence the roadmap of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the user experience of products end-to-end, including contributing to product strategy, running design sprints, creating visions, and establishing frameworks.
  • Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward.
  • Push the creative boundaries of our merchant experiences with your design explorations through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual design.
  • Help merchants grow their businesses and improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day.
  • Design and ship high-quality product experiences.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of work experience.
  • Ability to distill complexity into intuitive experiences, considering every facet of the user journey.
  • Strategic mindset, balancing user and business needs to achieve strong solutions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to elevating the user experience.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics concisely to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience leveraging quantitative data to form hypotheses that guide design decisions.
