About the position

As a Senior Product Designer for Partner Workspaces at Postman, you will play a pivotal role in driving and accelerating the growth of our collaboration offerings that facilitate teams in working with partner APIs. Your primary responsibility will be to design and validate experiences that empower teams to collaborate efficiently, enabling them to build or sell API capabilities. This position demands a deep understanding of the role APIs play in modern businesses, coupled with a strong curiosity for exploring collaborative use cases surrounding partner APIs. You will be passionate about delivering exceptional experiences for both developers and partners, ensuring that our solutions meet their needs effectively. In this role, you will own the user experience from ideation to execution, collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and go-to-market stakeholders. You will strategically define UX goals and identify opportunities for cross-product developer workflows, always keeping business outcomes such as active usage and revenue in mind. Your work will involve researching and consolidating customer insights, both qualitative and quantitative, to inform our strategy and priorities for partner workspaces. You will produce design deliverables that align with Postman's brand standards and continuously engage in social listening through platforms like Twitter, GitHub, and Zendesk to understand how users interact with Postman. Fostering a vibrant developer community will be essential, as you will implement feedback mechanisms to enhance user satisfaction. You will be the voice of the user within your team, clearly communicating user concerns, motivations, and feedback both internally and externally. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our collaboration offerings are not only functional but also delightful to use, ultimately contributing to the success of our partners and their API initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate experiences that enable teams to collaborate efficiently with partners to build or sell API capabilities.
  • Own the user experience from ideation to execution while working closely with product, engineering, and GTM stakeholders.
  • Work with product managers to strategically define UX goals and opportunities for cross-product developer workflows, keeping business outcomes such as active usage and revenue in mind.
  • Research, gather, and consolidate customer insights (both qualitative and quantitative) to inform our strategy, priorities, requirements, and use cases for partner workspaces.
  • Produce design deliverables consistent with the Postman experience and brand standards.
  • Engage in continuous social listening through Twitter, GitHub, and Zendesk to better understand how people use Postman.
  • Foster a vibrant developer community and implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve user satisfaction.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate user concerns, motivations, and feedback, both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in end-to-end design practices in companies solving real-world pain points.
  • Experience with successfully rolling out early-stage products and scaling them.
  • Experience working with an experimentally driven product team, validating hypotheses rigorously.
  • Ability to visually communicate ideas through quick, low-fidelity mockups such as pencil sketches.
  • Proactive in seeking feedback and tuning the fidelity of work for the stage of product development.
  • Ability to create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes to articulate detailed experiences and user interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills to keep the broader team informed on work, product goals, user insights, and successes.
  • Good understanding of how APIs work and the role Postman plays for developers.
