About the position

The Senior Product Owner - Exchange and Email Security is a pivotal role within the IT department, reporting directly to the Director of Messaging & Collaboration. This position is responsible for the comprehensive design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Exchange and Email Security infrastructure. The Senior Product Owner will collaborate closely with IT teams, security professionals, and business stakeholders to ensure that the Exchange and Email Security environment is reliable, secure, and scalable. This role requires the individual to build and leverage strong partnerships across business, technology, and product leadership to implement innovative solutions within the Exchange and Email Security technologies. As a product evangelist and subject matter expert, the Senior Product Owner will serve as the primary leader for providing timely updates to both internal and external customers. The role involves participating in an agile approach through standups, planning, and processes, which is essential for the success of the position. Strong leadership and strategic skills are necessary, along with a deep understanding of the modern Exchange Online and Email Security landscape. The successful candidate will also engage with the broader technology community and vendors to stay informed about industry innovations that can enhance the product offering and internal practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional agile delivery team responsible for architecting, designing, and managing the delivery of the Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (Defender), and SMTP Relay services.
• Establish product roadmaps, multi-year plans, and user stories.
• Manage risks, remediation plans, and other security-related activities for responsible platforms.
• Act as the main point of contact for the delivery of the Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (Defender), and SMTP Relay services.

Requirements

• 6+ years' experience in IT, business, management operations, or related professional area.
• 5+ years' experience with Exchange Online, Exchange Online Protection (Defender) policy design and implementation.
• 5+ years' experience with Email Security Gateways and mail flow integration/management.
• 5+ years' experience with SMTP Relay services (Hosted and On-Premise).
• 3+ years designing, supporting solutions based on Office365 and other Collaboration Services.
• 4+ years of demonstrated Product and/or Strategy experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and other IT teams.
• Strong attention to detail with an ability to define product roadmaps and operate effectively across multiple priorities.

Nice-to-haves

• Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate (Exchange Online Support Engineer).
• 5+ years of experience managing third party and contract labor.
• Product management experience leading or managing platforms within a large, global organization.
• Ability to understand and navigate complex user and technical discussions, architectures, and dependent solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with Design Thinking.
• Demonstrated experience with SAFE Agile.
