About the position

The Senior Product Owner (Sr PO) is a vital member of the Agile team, acting as a bridge between the Product Management team and development teams. This role is responsible for managing the Sprint backlog, ensuring user story readiness, and aligning priorities with program goals to enhance team productivity and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize the Agile Team backlog, ensuring clarity and readiness of user stories.
• Facilitate backlog grooming and ensure two iterations' worth of 'ready' work for the team.
• Collaborate with Dev teams to provide real-time answers, clarify requirements, and maintain high productivity.
• Review and accept stories as done, ensuring acceptance criteria are met.
• Coordinate with Product Management and other POs for Program Increment (PI) planning and cross-team initiatives.
• Guide and mentor junior POs to foster professional growth.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum teams, managing backlogs for complex initiatives.
• Strong backlog management, user story writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and mentoring abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in mentoring junior POs and working across multiple Agile teams.
• Familiarity with Program Increment planning and large-scale Agile frameworks.
