About the position

The Senior Proposal Strategist at 1898 & Co. is responsible for leading the development and execution of competitive proposals in technology consulting engagements. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in major consulting firms, capable of synthesizing complex information into winning strategies that align with client needs and business objectives. The strategist will oversee the proposal lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, client-focused submissions that reflect the brand's voice and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of strategic proposals, providing tactical and strategic insights.
  • Create visually compelling proposal materials and maintain a library of reusable content.
  • Drive continuous improvement of proposal management tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with account teams to execute tailored proposal strategies based on industry knowledge.
  • Coordinate all phases of the proposal lifecycle, from strategy meetings to submission and interview preparations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring compliance with client deadlines.
  • Engage with team members to gather insights and develop winning messages.
  • Conduct quality assurance on all proposals to ensure brand alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field and 8 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales with a professional services firm, or an Associate degree with 10 years of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in pursuit strategy or proposal management is preferred.
  • Experience in a top-tier consulting firm and proven experience leading large-scale proposals in technology consulting is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information effectively.
  • Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous management experience is preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • A keen eye for detail in both content and design.
  • Extensive knowledge of the RFI and RFP processes.
  • Ability to think conceptually and translate complex client needs into compelling proposals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, with experience in InDesign preferred.
