Senior Python/Snowflake Developer

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert on one or more applications used by DTCC
• Work with the Business System Analyst to ensure designs satisfy functional requirements
• Partner with Infrastructure to identify and deploy optimal hosting environments
• Tune application performance to eliminate and reduce issues
• Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with DTCC technology standards
• Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; advances appropriately
• Apply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs
• Contribute expertise to the design of components or individual programs and participate in the construction and functional testing
• Support development teams, testing, fixing, and production support
• Create applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
• Work with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
• Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; intensifies appropriately

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Expertise in Python; solid experience in building enterprise applications using Python
• Experience with Python multithreading and multiprocessing applications
• Good understanding of pandas, libraries
• Solid experience with SQL (ideally Snowflake)
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies
• Experience working in Agile Development teams
• Experience with enterprise CI/CD tools ex: Jenkins, version control systems ex: Git
• Experience with development of financial applications, ideally related to Risk Management
• Hands on experience with writing automated test cases Ex: pytest or unittest
• Ability to work independently and in a distributed team environment
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
