The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. This position is integral to a project focused on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced taste disruption. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of research activities, including the in vitro culture of taste organoids and conducting experiments with laboratory mice. The role requires maintaining a mouse colony, treating both mice and organoids with pharmacological agents, and performing various laboratory techniques such as cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, and gene expression analysis using qRT-PCR and Hybridization Chain Reaction (HCR). Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for data collection, entry, analysis, and meticulous record-keeping. The Senior Research Associate will also manage lab responsibilities, which include purchasing supplies, maintaining equipment, and scheduling necessary service and calibration. A key aspect of this role is to assist in training and mentoring students and new staff, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the lab. The position is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO, and will report directly to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Linda Barlow, a Professor in the Cell and Developmental Biology department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a supportive and dynamic academic setting.
