About the position

The Senior Research, Training, and Education Associate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) plays a crucial role in promoting evidence-informed policy to reduce poverty. This position is part of a collaborative team focused on equipping policymakers, researchers, and staff with the knowledge necessary to conduct rigorous impact evaluations. The role involves contributing to the mission of J-PAL through research, education, and training initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the mission of promoting evidence-informed policy.
• Work collaboratively with the Research, Education, and Training (RET) team.
• Equip policymakers, researchers, and staff with knowledge for rigorous impact evaluations.
• Conduct quantitative data analysis and econometric evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, political science, education, public policy, international development, or related field.
• Strong technical understanding of econometrics and/or randomized evaluations.
• Minimum of two years of work experience for the associate level, or four years for the senior associate level.
• Experience in quantitative data analysis and economics or a related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree.
• Experience working with or in large bilateral or multilateral organizations.
• Teaching experience.
• Experience working in low- or middle-income countries.
• Experience designing and running randomized evaluations.
