About the position

The Senior Research, Training, and Education Associate at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is responsible for contributing to the mission of promoting evidence-informed policy through rigorous impact evaluations. This role involves working within a diverse and integrated team in a fast-paced environment, equipping policymakers, researchers, and staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct effective evaluations aimed at reducing poverty.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the mission of J-PAL by promoting evidence-informed policy.
• Work collaboratively within the Research, Education, and Training (RET) team.
• Equip policymakers, researchers, and staff with knowledge for conducting rigorous impact evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, political science, education, public policy, international development, or a related field.
• Strong technical understanding of econometrics and/or randomized evaluations.
• Minimum of two years of work experience for the associate level, or four years for the senior associate level, including quantitative data analysis and economics.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience working with or in large bilateral or multilateral organizations.
• Teaching experience.
• Experience working in low- or middle-income countries.
• Experience designing and running randomized evaluations.
