About the position

The Senior Revenue Accountant at Lucid Software plays a crucial role in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards. This position involves performing month-end revenue journal entries, evaluating customer contracts, and driving process improvements. The role requires collaboration with various teams to support financial reporting and internal controls, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end revenue related journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Evaluate revenue treatment for customer contracts under ASC 606 by preparing checklists for new contracts or amendments.
  • Drive process and system improvements while seeking opportunities for automation.
  • Partner with Order Management to evaluate customer contracts and ensure all revenue transactions are recorded in accordance with Lucid's revenue recognition policies.
  • Perform SSP analysis and assess fair value allocations for reasonableness.
  • Create accounting memos as necessary to document the Company's accounting positions under ASC 606.
  • Work actively with Lucid's external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are compliant with GAAP.
  • Maintain and update order-to-cash internal documentation to support SOX 404 internal controls.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls for the order-to-cash process.
  • Support revenue recognition disclosures in all financial reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2-3 years of combined experience in public accounting and/or a corporate revenue accounting role.
  • CPA with strong analytical and technical skills, business partnering, and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Strong technical Revenue Recognition experience, and all related authoritative guidance regarding revenue recognition in a technology company.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (i.e., maintain complex spreadsheets and detailed calculations).
  • Ability to operate independently, effectively prioritize tasks, and deliver high quality results.
  • Operational accounting experience in a growing SaaS technology business and experience with activities in the order-to-cash process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Netsuite and Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Big 4 experience.
