About the position

The Senior Software Engineer, Front End at Capital One will be part of the Auto Dealer Financials team, focusing on maintaining the core ledgering and accounting of Auto Dealer Reserve Accounts. This role involves leveraging cutting-edge technologies and frameworks to support enterprise-wide initiatives, particularly in modernizing payment systems. The engineer will work in a collaborative environment, solving complex business problems and delivering robust cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Perform software development on Front End Applications using a test-driven development pattern.
• Own the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other engineering community members.
• Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that enhance user experiences.
• Utilize programming languages such as JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript, and Java, along with open source frameworks and RESTful web services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience in JavaScript, React, Angular, Node, TypeScript, or Java.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.
• 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
