Senior Software Engineer - Storage and Data Protection of VMware Cloud Foundation

About the position

The position involves designing, developing, and executing test plans for hardware enablement with vSAN, ensuring regular maintenance and improvements. The role requires collaboration with VCF and Partner engineering teams to enable new hardware solutions with vSAN. The candidate will actively participate in product planning, feature design, and code reviews with a focus on customer-centric solutions. Additionally, the role emphasizes increasing automation for end-to-end testing and implementing strategies to enhance enablement and certification efficiency and quality. The candidate will analyze quality data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to improve overall product performance. Strong debugging, testing, and documentation skills are essential, along with proactive task and time management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans for hardware enablement with vSAN ensuring regular maintenance and improvements.
• Collaborate with VCF and Partner engineering teams to enable new hardware solutions with vSAN.
• Actively participate in product planning, feature design and code reviews with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
• Increase automation for end-to-end testing and implement strategies to enhance enablement and certification efficiency and quality.
• Analyze quality data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to improve overall product performance.
• Demonstrate strong debugging, testing, and documentation skills, while proactively managing tasks and time.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of industry experience, including 3+ years working with VMware/virtualization solutions at an enterprise scale.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years related experience OR Master's degree and 6+ years related experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Computer Science and 6+ years related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with enterprise-level distributed systems, with a focus on storage areas preferred.
• Experience qualifying Server platforms, Storage devices or new hardware solutions is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure feature readiness, coupled with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
