About the position

The Senior Space Warfare OE Strategist & Technologist at Axient is a subject matter expert role focused on military strategy and operational energy technologies within the Space domain. This position supports the HQ USSF Future Command and the OSD Operational Energy Innovation office, working on multi-domain capabilities and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Space Force. The strategist will draft and present strategies, force structures, and technology roadmaps, integrating space operations with other warfighting domains, and contribute to modeling and simulation efforts for domain wargaming.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in future Space Force systems, including force structure strategies and concepts of operations.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for Space systems, focusing on access, maneuver, and mission power.
  • Support USSF and DOD Operational Energy innovation through research and application to future systems.
  • Analyze current and future energy technologies to meet multi-domain operational needs.
  • Minimize operational energy limitations on military operations across domains.
  • Enhance operational energy technologies to support Space Force capabilities.
  • Collect and organize information into a comprehensive Space energy strategy with implementation recommendations.
  • Support various energy portfolios for the OSD OE-I office.
  • Apply research and engineering skills to Space Solar Power and Space Mobility missions.
  • Document research and analytic support efforts in high-quality written formats.

Requirements

  • 20 years of experience supporting the Department of the Air Force and/or Space Force.
  • 5 years of experience in the Washington DC area supporting DOD, AF Space Command, or Space Force.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Active-duty military experience is highly desired.
  • Graduation from SAASS is highly desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Space systems research and engineering (R&E) and acquisitions.
  • Knowledge of Space operational energy technologies and innovations.
