About the position

The Senior Specialist, Cost Account Manager (CAM) - Material Management is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring cost accounts related to direct labor and material within the supply chain. This role acts as the control account manager, implementing budgetary targets, analyzing costs, and ensuring efficient material movement from receiving to production. The position requires collaboration with various teams to develop material requirements and schedules, utilizing MRP systems, and managing supplier negotiations for timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor cost accounts for direct labor and material.
  • Act as control account manager (CAM) for supply chain scope.
  • Implement budgetary cost and lead-time targets for procurements.
  • Analyze actual material and labor costs against planned outcomes.
  • Plan and monitor the movement of material from receiving to production.
  • Develop raw material and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications.
  • Coordinate material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams.
  • Negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.
  • Interpret laws and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for export/import control certifications.
  • Serve as the supply chain interface to the program team and align resources with business needs.
  • Chair material status meetings and provide targeted information for program teams.
  • Develop financial forecasts for material and participate in EAC reviews.
  • Maintain program material cost, delivery, and labor baseline including change requests.
  • Support the development of supply chain deliverables for NPD stage gate processes.
  • Collaborate with the program team to define execution methods for cash flow, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Manage Master Production Schedule (MPS) and MRP under general supervision.
  • Utilize MRP to maximize supply and demand management and mentor others.
  • Manage timely purchase requisition releases to procurement teams.
  • Prioritize procurement expedite activities and facilitate purchase order placements.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning and Inventory/Warehouse/Logistics in executing the build plan.
  • Monitor internal cross-functional metric trends to identify supply chain risks.
  • Accountable for program closeout of material-related contractual obligations.
  • Interact with management and provide auditors with requested information.
  • Chair SCM program kick-off and ensure timely issue resolution for the program team.
  • Solve complex problems by analyzing data and identifying trends in Material Management data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 4 years of experience, or 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in Material Management and related fields.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience using MRP systems software.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 8+ years of experience using MRP systems software.
  • Master Production Scheduling experience.
  • Thorough understanding of FAR, MMAS, MAAR-13, and CAS.
  • Subject matter expert in Supply Chain principles and concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in the US DOD manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge of Visio.
